The Department of Mathematics has a long standing tradition of hosting  mathematical events and seminars to facilitate  the communication of mathematical ideas. Since 2023, the department started  the weekly departmental seminar beautifully named Q.E.D.  The goal of this seminar is to help ideas circulate among the research scholar-faculty ecosystem inside the  department while also being open to anyone not affiliated with department to come and share their work and ideas. Outreach programs have been a constant feature  of the Department playing part in inspiring the broad school audience  into taking up mathematics. Apart from this, the department has organized various lecture series, conferences  and has played it's part in helping Mathematics feature in the cultural zeitgeist of but not limited to Kolkata and Bengal at large.
