The Trustees of the King’s College London Students’ Union (“KCLSU”):
RECOGNISING the decisive mandate of President Baiyu Liu to implement the programme for a General Levy for the enhancement of the wellbeing of students and associated purposes (“Student Wellbeing Levy”);
RESPECTING the cost-of-living obstacles and various mental and physical health detriments that students of King’s College London have experienced;
IN ACCORDANCE WITH the duty of the KCLSU to the educational interests and welfare of its members,
Shall undertake to:
(1) Establish the Student Wellbeing Levy programme, to be administered by the Administrator of Student Wellbeing.
(2) Impose a General Levy of 15% on all new contracts with external entities that have licences to occupy physical spaces owned by the KCLSU.
(a) External entities that comply with the Student Wellbeing Levy shall be registered by the Administrator of Student Wellbeing onto the Student Wellbeing Partnership Programme.
(b) The President shall make provision for the various benefits afforded to external entities who are members of the Student Wellbeing Partnership Programme.
(3) This Student Wellbeing Levy shall not apply to:
(a) Student societies affiliated with the KCLSU temporarily occupying spaces owned by KCLSU, with external entities participating in the occupation of these spaces for a limited period of time.
By Declaration of the President.
A more detailed declaration and policy document on the imposition of the Student Wellbeing Levy and establishment of the Office of the Administrator for Student Wellbeing will be released by Baiyu Liu on officially taking office as President. The implementation of this policy into the operation of the KCLSU is contingent on the approval of the Trustees of the KCLSU.
The official submission of this text will be made once Baiyu Liu is President of the KCLSU.
