Communication 

Just as with most working environments, maintain professionalism in all of your communication with your research advisor and team. Sometimes, research professors will want you to call them by their first name. However, unless it is explicitly asked of you, try to maintain your professional space by referring to them as Dr. or Professor. There are many cultural norms where this advice might not apply, but it is better to play it safe.
