    • Experimental and numerical investigations on initiation of motion, transport of graded sediments and bed level variations in alluvial rivers; Morphological behavior of rivers in plan form using GIS, satellite imagery and field investigations.

Hydrodynamic and Flood Modelling

    • Flood modelling using 1D-2D integrated hydrodynamic models and inundation mapping in the flood plains; Integration of hydrological and hydrodynamic models; Flood protection measures

Hydrological Modelling

    • Hydrological modeling of surface, sub-surface and saturated systems including water balance studies using lumped and distributed hydrological models

Reservoir Operation and Optimal Irrigation Planning

    • Inflow prediction into reservoirs using data driven techniques; Multi-objective optimization approaches for reservoir operation and optimal irrigation planning

Assessment of Climate Variability

    • Variability of climatic parameters and stream flows at basin and sub-basin scales; Attribution of local and global factors influencing changes in hydro-meteorological extremes
