About

Precious Plastic is the brainchild of Dave Hakken. He began taking the first steps in 2012 during his studies in the Netherlands. The next few years saw a rise of interest as more people learned about Precious Plastics and suddenly envisions a tangible future with recycling that actually works. In 2016 the Precious Plastic movement launched and began it's journey towards  a full fledged world-wide community. The next few years saw increased momentum and better technological innovations. 

In the summer of 2020, a group of impassioned individuals throughout Washington began to connect and grow the local Precious Plastic community.

Today, we seek resources and like-minded individuals to make local recycling a reality in Seattle. We are a grassroots organization with opportunities for participation and leadership at all levels.
