Through my life experinces I decided to become a school counselor to give back to the community. As an immigrant and first generation student I have put my self in a mission for helping those students who have encountered obstacles and struggles in their lives to finish their education. Every child should not have any barriers that impede their education.
Through my life experinces I decided to become a school counselor to give back to the community. Every child should not have any barriers that impede their education.
I am an immigrant who was brought by my parents for a better future and opportunities. I am from a small city in Aguascalientes, Mexico, raised by my parents who did not have the opportunity to get educated; they had to work to help their families. Education was not an option. I was an immigrant in the United States who graduated from High School but could not go to college due to my status. Life happened I got married and had three beautiful children who had dreams on hold, and after fifteen years I returned as a citizen to finish my Bachelors in Spanish from CSULB with a 4.0. Then enrolled at GCU for my Masters in School Counseling and loving my job helping students academically, mentally, and socially. Dreams do come true but I had to put in the work. With my life experinces, I thought about those students regardless of sexual orientation, minorities, LGBTQ+, low-income, immigrants, and gender identity to provide a safe environment. With that said, This is why I want to support all students who face learning obstacles like, anxiety, depression, peer pressure, self-insecurities, and want to encourage them to continue fighitng for themeselves.

Beyond my academics, I love Power-lift, Crossfit, running, hiking, reading, cooking and enjoying my dogs, Kobe & Riley, and two cats Oreo & Panda. I love making sure my children Alexandra, Eric and Victoria are kids who have the opportunity to fullfill their dreams like other children, but they have to put in the work. I want to enjoy the rest of my biggest supporter and cheerleader, my husband Carlos.
