To mark a close for this eventful fall semester, we’re joined by our amazing Guest Speaker PA-S Roodley Francois! ✨
PA-S Roodley Francois was born in Haiti and moved to NYC when he was 7 years old. As a current 1st year PA student at Mercy University his journey to PA school was unique and definitely an example of resilience. For his undergrad studies, he majored in Biomedical Studies at Mercy University. As he looks back, the journey toward this stage in life was challenging but rewarding. However, his passion for medicine outweighed any challenges and led him to inch closer to his goals.
"I feel very grateful for the opportunity to give insight into my journey and to aid prospective PAs on their own journey." - PA-S Roodley Francois

For the second half of November we’re joined by a familiar face to the Pre-PA Society... our amazing Guest Speaker PA-S Andrea! ✨
PA-S Andrea is a Portland native who ventured out to NYC to pursue her professional endeavors at the CUNY School of Medicine. Prior to PA school, she worked as an EMT for a mobile in-home urgent care service and for the fire department’s community health division. Notably, she graduated both high school and college early giving her time to pursue the rest of the requirements for a well rounded application.
Beyond the PA side of her journey, she enjoys travelling (especially to Vietnam), enjoying good food, doing crafty projects, finding new coffee shops, and drinking lattes.
"As a future PA, I want to build long-lasting relationships with my patients, educate them, and advocate for underserved communities." - PA-S Andrea

She has had extensive experience in the field of cardiology working closely with physicians to improve patient care for cardiac health issues. These include treating abnormal heart rhythms, heart failure, cardiovascular risk management, lipid management, hypertension, and working with innovative medical devices. Tina finds the field of cardiology rewarding with the continuous advancements in heart health. Tina Chen received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant.
