Dr. Prashantha C. N is a leading Bioinformatics and Genomics expert with extensive academic, research, and entrepreneurial experience in computational biology, molecular modeling, and drug discovery. With a Ph.D. in Genomics (Biotechnology) from REVA University, his research explored pharmacogenomic biomarkers for Type 2 Diabetes, emphasizing whole exome sequencing, data analytics, and molecular docking.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Bioinformatics at REVA University, he has been instrumental in establishing and leading the Department of Bioinformatics, where he initiated both B.Sc. and M.Sc. Bioinformatics programs, integrating biology, computer science, and mathematics. His academic vision focuses on nurturing the next generation of bioinformatics professionals through an interdisciplinary curriculum aligned with modern omics research and AI applications.
As a founder and former CEO of Scientific Bio-Minds (Bioinformatics consultancy and R&D) and Clovergen Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. (Agricultural Genomics startup), Dr. Prashantha has successfully bridged academia and industry, delivering innovative solutions in genomic data analysis, proteomic profiling, and in silico drug design.
He has authored over 60+ high-impact publications in reputed journals including Molecular Diversity, Microbial Pathogenesis, Chemical Data Collections, and Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, covering areas such as anticancer compound screening, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, phytochemical modeling, and personalized medicine.
A recognized bioinformatics trainer and invited speaker, Dr. Prashantha has conducted more than 50 national and international workshops across India and abroad on NGS data analysis, molecular docking, cheminformatics, and transcriptomics, collaborating with multiple universities, colleges, and other leading institutions. He also serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals, including Chemical Biology and Drug Design, Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, and Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics.
