I’m Smita, an IT professional and a passionate yoga practitioner and teacher. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been introduced to the foundational practices of yoga and meditation at a young age by esteemed yoga gurus in Pune, India. Over the years, I’ve explored various yoga traditions, including B.K.S. Iyengar yoga, Pancha-Kosha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, and Hatha yoga. Hatha yoga has been my primary focus for a few years now.
Under the guidance of my yoga guru, I was encouraged to share the true essence of yoga with others, which led me to complete my 200-hour yoga certification with the Art of Living Yoga Foundation in the USA. I initially started teaching yoga to my close circle of friends and family, and through word of mouth, my community of yoga enthusiasts has grown. I'm deeply grateful for each person who practices with me.
While I have a fulfilling career in IT, I also dedicate time to teaching virtual and in-person yoga classes, typically in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends. Teaching yoga brings me immense satisfaction, and every day I learn more through my own practice, which I’m eager to pass on to others.
Yoga, to me, is all about balance, and I’ve experienced firsthand how it creates harmony in life. As the saying goes, "Yoga Samatvam Uchyate" — yoga helps to bring equilibrium into our lives. Join me on this journey to find balance and peace through yoga!
