As a graduating high school student looking to study engineering in college, I have numerous goals for my future education.
I plan to continue my studies to the postgraduate level and aim to earn various distinctions, such as an acceptance to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
I would like to participate in unique research opportunities and internships pertinent to my major. I would be most interested in automotive engineering design opportunities.
I hope to put my Mechanical Engineering degree and years of education to work in the Automotive industry.
With my future mastery in both mechanical engineering and computer science, I plan to implement new software developments, such as artificial intelligence, with pre-existing hardware components, for example traditional combustion engines, to yield a greater efficiency.
I was influenced to pursue Mechanical engineering and computer science by both my parents and my teachers. At a young age, my father introduced me to the world of mechanical engineering through cars. Alongside my father, I visited several automotive museums in Stuttgart and Detroit, taking time to learn about automotive history and mainstream automotive technologies. From the foundation he created, I would take it upon myself to learn about cars on my own time. I would come home from school and spend my free time learning and reading about automotive engineering. Whether it be through new developments, such as the new Skyactiv-X HCCI engine by Mazda, or the current trends in manufacturing, I am keen to learn more. I was inspired to minor in computer science by my AP computer science teacher, who introduced me to the hackathon scene. Through the hackathons(events where competitors would compete to win awards for their software projects), I developed an interest for computer science. Through the courses and extracurriculars I have taken in high school, I developed a passion for mechanical engineering and computer science, which I hope to harness in order to excel in my future studies and career.
