It had been a year since Rama and Sita’s big day which was their wedding. They lived in New York City which was one of the busiest cities in the country. They loved being in New York because they really liked the busy lifestyle. What they didn't expect was to be so busy in their daily lives that they did not have time for each other. Rama and Sita worked 9am to 5pm every day both at different jobs.
They only got to really spend time with each other at night which was something they do not like. Usually they just talked about their day along with if anything exciting happened when they were at work.
One night Rama came home and looked worried. Sita could see on his face that it was not the normal Rama. Rama didn’t say one word for thirty minutes after being home. Sita knew something had to be bothering Rama because he was never like this.
Sita asked Rama, "What happened? Is something wrong, my love?"
Rama told her, "I got a job offer in Texas that could potentially make me the CEO of the company but I do not want to be away from you."
Sita insisted, "That is great. I am so happy for you. This is something you always wanted. Why don't you look happy to go? Wife and husband should always be together no matter where they have to be."
Rama said, "It would not be easy to find a job for you even if you do come!" But Sita didn’t care. Sita worked for a company that was only based in New York. All she knew was she wanted to stay with Rama no matter what.
In two days they packed their bags and moved to Texas without knowing exactly where they were going to live, hoping to start a new and better journey. They hoped that they would see each other more but that did not happen. They also hoped Sita would find another job.
One day she went out to look for jobs but did not find anything that she was interested in. As she was driving back to the hotel, where they were staying for a couple of days, she saw two men on the side of the road. She went to see if they needed help. As she went closer to them they grabbed her and closed her eyes and pushed her in the white van.
She had no idea what was happening. Sita was very worried because she thought someone was trying to kill her. The first thing she thought of was how to tell Rama where she was. She was hoping Rama would call her and be worried why she was not picking up the phone.
A couple hours had passed by and Rama was wondering why Sita was not home yet. He called her but her phone just kept ringing. Rama knew something was wrong because Sita always picked up the phone no matter where she was or what she was doing. He tracked her phone to see where she was and realized that she was at a random house. He knew something was up. He got in the car and rushed to that address where Sita was at.
Rama got to the unknown house. He kicked the door open and found Sita tied up on a chair. He found two unknown men sitting on the couch which was next to the chair. Rama picked up the first thing he found, which was a glass vase, and hit one of the men in the head and punched the other man in the stomach and the face. He knocked them both down on the ground. Next he untied Sita and took her in the car.
They both left to go to the car and to the police station. Sita filed a report on being kidnapped by strangers and told them all that had happened.
Sita told Rama, " I want to go home. I am so scared someone is going to take me away from you again."
Rama told Sita, "It is all going to be okay. I won't leave you, my love. You are going to be fine."
Sita was lying on Rama's shoulder as she fell asleep.
I used Sita and Rama’s story about how they both went to the forest and Sita decided to go with Rama just to be with him even though she did not have to. She didn’t care about all the challenges that they might face such as food or the weather or even the danger that they might face. They both went to a new place alone but in this story it was to Texas and not a forest. I kept their love and caring self the same because I like how they are with each other. Even though they have had some bumps in their life together they are a very good couple. I continued this story about being in New York after they got married because I want to keep telling your their life journeys. I want to add to the important steps they take in life and share them among their followers. This story is different from the Ramayana because in the original epic Rama was going into exile because he does not get to be king. In my story he is going to get to be the CEO. I wanted Rama to be easily successful from the beginning. I added Sita being kidnapped in my story just how she gets kidnapped in the Ramayana but not by someone known. In the Ramayana, the way Rama finds Sita is by her jewelry; in my story Rama finds Sita by using technology. I didn't want to make Sita brave like she originally was in the story I told. I wanted her to be different in my story and have Rama protect her. Sita was very scared in the way I told the story because Rama is the one who is always saving her. I wanted a different side of the story just to make it more interesting.
