Coming from a family of doctors, I naturally inclined towards medicine and so I spent the last two yeas of my secondary education preparing to crack NEET. Though science was very fascinating (still is), I soon realized I should have taken my love for stories seriously enough to venture into humanities. I happen to be one of the lucky ones who were blessed with a chance to recognize their interests at a young age and was able to pursue it and thus my journey as a student of humanities began. An undergrad degree in English Honors strengthened my belief that I knew what I was doing and then the first semester of MA-ECS happened to me - I had never felt more lost.
Lost, because I never knew, humanities was so vast and vibrant. The first semester went by in trying to wrap my head around the fact and keep up with a series of challenging assignments. The core papers I took were Narratives: From the Novel to Video Games, Doing Cultural History, Revisiting Indian Mythologies, and Usable Pasts: History and Dialectics of Memory, along with Poetry and Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment as electives.
