Users of participating libraries can checkout e-books and e-audiobooks directly from the catalog.
Search in one place to find the resources you want.
The catalog offers improved search results by rolling up all copies into one result. For example, physical books, large print books, audiobooks, e-books, and e-audiobooks are all displayed in one result with availability visible. Select the desired material type to find a copy.
Enter your search terms. The Search Results page displays resources that match your search criteria.
To checkout an e-book from Overdrive
Select the E-Books tab from the format rollup.
Select Check Out Now.
Log in with your library barcode number and pin if you are not signed in.
4. The library e-book confirmation window opens. The e-book is successfully checked out.

In the library e-book confirmation window, scroll down to details about Overdrive's Libby app. Find your checkouts in the Libby app.
Navigate to the Checkouts & Requests page in the My Account Portal.
From here, for Overdrive materials.
You can Check In the e-book.
Get Item
Select the down arrow next to Check In then select Get Item.
The ebook information window appears with instructions on how to read the e-book.
eRead Illinois is now housed within The Palace Project.
Currently, The Palace Project is not yet available for searching or checkouts within Vega Discover. In the meantime, please download The Palace Project app and search for eMaterials there using your library barcode and pin.
Open The Palace Project (Palace) app and search for your library. The catalog will automatically load.
Select an eMaterial (eBook or Audiobook) and tap Borrow to add it to the My Books tab. If a material is currently checked out, you can place a hold on it and it will show in the Holds tab.
After you tap Borrow, you will be prompted to log in if this is your first time using the app. Log in using your library barcode and pin. If you plan on using the Palace app on more than one device, you can toggle Sync bookmarks to save your reading position. From the My Books tab, you can read and listen to your borrows directly in the app. Borrows will be automatically returned at the end of the loan date.
Enter your search terms. The Search Results page displays resources that match your search criteria.
Select the E-Books tab from the format rollup.
If the e-book is unavailable, select the Place Hold button to place the e-book on hold.
3. The Confirmation Window opens. The hold was successful. Follow the instructions to borrow the resource once it is available.
5. Navigate to the Checkouts & Requests page and then the Hold Requests tab in the My Account Portal to view current holds.
