Praachi is a postdoctoral research fellow working with Dr. David B. Yaden at the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she is exploring the therapeutic potential of psychedelics in treatment of mental health disorders.
Praachi completed her PhD (MSc. Integrated, 2016-2022) in Neuroscience with Prof. Vidita Vaidya at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai), where she focused on understanding the neurobiology of stress-related disorders. In 2018, Praachi received the Sarojini Damodaran Fellowship grant to foster collaborations with Prof. Gal Richter-Levin's lab at University of Haifa. For her PhD work, she has also been awarded the prestigious Sun Pharma Science Scholar Award (Pharmaceutical Science) in 2020. Prior to starting her PhD, Praachi completed her Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Biotechnology from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (NIT, Allahabad).
Praachi is interested in exploring the neurobiological basis of psychedelic action. She hopes to bridge the gap between clinical and preclinical science in the psychedelic medicine space.
