I joined the school in 2019 and I am a Course Director of the MArch course and the Deputy Director of Education for the school. I have also taken a lead in the school's admission open days. Prior to joining Sheffield, I taught at Central Saint Martins for several years as a Studio Leader, Widening Participation Tutor, and Leader of Professional Practice.
My scholarship is focussed on architectural pedagogy – both current, historic and its future – as well as the professionalisation of architects in 19th Century Britain and the ongoing implications of the circumstances of its formalisation into a regulated profession. I currently collaborate with educators at other schools of architecture on the future of architectural education as well as engaging with external partners such as on mentoring.
My architectural pedagogical research explores inclusivity and I have presented action research at the Association of Architectural Educators on the role of digital platforms to aide in-class participation and evaluative judgement.
