At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and continuous lockdown in Malaysia between 2021-2022, this study led by Dr Zuhrah Beevi aimed at understanding the role of hypnosis as a coping tool for pregnant women.
This study concluded in 2022 and is currently being written for publication.
A quantitative study was conducted in collaboration with University Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) to understand the role of positive psychology (hope) and well-being symptoms (positive, negative emotions, depression and anxiety) on life satisfaction of Malaysian pregnant women.

This interview study was conducted as a follow-up to the quantitative study above with a few selected couples to gather more detailed and in-depth information regarding Malaysian expectant mothers' and fathers' experiences. Interviews were conducted once at pregnancy and once at postpartum.
This study concluded recruitment in May 2023, completed data collection in October 2023 and concluded in November 2024. This research will soon be prepared for publication.
As part of the dual-perspective research approach, we conducted interviews with various health and care professionals licensed and practicing in Malaysia. These are individuals with experience of providing coping and support services for expectant or new parents in Malaysia.
