Starting Pay: $25 per hour (both roles)

MECHANIC - NATIONAL GRID POWER PLANT
National Grid seeks entry-level Mechanic in Northport, NY that may be a good fit for Power Up alumni with mechanical, HVAC, or building systems experience or those interested in getting started in utility and energy infrastructure work. A Residential Roofing Specialist will perform tasks related to roofing, including installation, repair, maintenance, preparation, and cleanup.
Key Responsibilities:
Worksite Preparation: Set up ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment. Remove old roofing materials and keep the area clean.
Assisting with Installation: Transport, cut, and measure materials. Help lay insulation, underlayment, or waterproof membranes and secure roofing materials.
Safety and Compliance: Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines. Wear protective gear and assist in securing materials.
Clean-up and Maintenance: Remove debris, clean tools, and perform basic maintenance on equipment and safety gear.
General Tasks: Assist with gutter installation, flashing, and sealing. Communicate effectively with the team and be prepared with personal tools. Follow instructions and go above and beyond to help the team.
Qualifications:
3+ years of Residential roofing experience
Expert knowledge of roofing materials and installation for residential projects.
In-depth knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and building codes for NYC and Long Island.
OSHA 30 certification
Valid driver’s license
