A bit about Sam.
My name is Sam and I'm a level 4 personal trainer, nutritional coach, and sports massage therapist. I am also passionate about suspension training and hold various TRX UK qualifications.
The Power of 3 was born out of my own experience of fitness, nutrition and weight loss as well as the continued journey that I am on. What I have learned is that it's not just about moving and the nutritional value of the fuel we feed our bodies, it is also very much about mindset.
I haven't always been a personal trainer - I was an aircraft engineer for 20 years. It seems like an odd transition but the human body is the most amazing piece of engineering I’ve come across yet! I have always had an interest in fitness as its very much part of the military mindset and it became so much more important to me after I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease - an autoimmune condition that causes an underactive thyroid.
I'm a single parent to Ridge and Harper. Parenting alone and my illness has given me a new perspective on fitness and nutrition. I understand how tough it can be to fit family, career, friends and your own health into life.
I'm not the kind of trainer who will enforce strict rules around exercise and food. I'll encourage you to include whatever kind of food you enjoy and move in whatever way you like. I'm a firm believer in us working together as a team and will aim to coach you with that in mind at all times.
