Field visits

Our field visits offer an on‑site look at peatland restoration, rewetting strategies, and innovative land‑use practices. Each visit combines expert insights with real‑world examples in the landscape. Have your wellies at the ready for 4 September!

Why join a field visit?

Participants gain a deeper understanding of how peatlands function, how they degrade, and how they can be restored. You will see first‑hand how hydrology, biodiversity, land use, and climate goals come together in practice.

Transport and schedule

All field visits will depart by bus from the main event venue, with return transport provided at the end of each visit. Some routes will also stop at a nearby airport or train station, making it easier for participants travelling from further away.

The programme includes both half‑day and full‑day excursions. Longer visits will generally include lunch. More detailed timings and practical information will be shared soon.

When registering, participants will be able to indicate their preferred field visits. This helps us organise transport efficiently and ensure everyone can join their chosen excursion.

We will provide an updated schedule and full practical details well in advance of the event.

Please note

To keep the bus clean, wellies can’t be worn on board. Please bring a plastic bag to tuck them away.
