The Programme Committee invites you to submit abstracts for individual oral presentations and poster presentations. All submissions are welcome that address the theme(s) of the conference. We encourage submissions that highlight practical and strategic enablers for peatland restoration and climate action across management, biodiversity, and socio-economic domains. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Programme Committee using the criteria described below.
All abstracts for individual contributions must be submitted by clicking the 'Submit your abstract' button. You will be directed to Oxford abstracts. Deadline for submission is 1 March 2026. Abstracts sent by email will not be considered.
Part of a session?
A Call for Sessions has already been circulated. If you have been approached to participate in a session, we kindly ask you to indicate this accordingly in the system.
When you submit your abstract you will have the option to select your preference for an oral talk or a poster presentation. Among the abstracts that have indicated a preference for an oral presentation, the Programme Committee will schedule as many as space allows but due to space limitations for oral sessions, it is likely some submitters will be scheduled to give a poster presentation. All accepted abstracts that prefer a poster will be scheduled as a poster.
Posters: There will be poster sessions during the conference and poster authors will be expected to be available to discuss/answer questions about their research during the poster session. Poster sessions give presenters an opportunity for extended discussion and networking. Poster sessions are planned during lunch and afternoon break. So there are no other sessions that are scheduled concurrently with posters.
Oral presentations: There are two possibilities: you can submit a short presentation (5 min.) or a full presentation. Individually submitted contributions will be scheduled in a session with similar themes. You will be informed about the time dedicated for your presentation at a later stage.
The language of the conference is English. Therefore, only English abstracts are accepted. Abstracts that do not meet this requirement will be rejected.
The abstract should contain the following elements: title, contributing authors with their affiliations and email addresses, body part with content
The body of the abstract may be up to 400 words maximum.
The abstract should not contain any headings.
A presenting author should be indicated who will receive all communications, including acceptance and scheduling notifications.
To distribute the available time and space as fair as possible each person is allowed to submit only one abstract where they are listed as presenting author. This rule does not apply to co-authors, i.e. a person can be co-author in more than one contribution.
Each submitted abstract will be peer-reviewed and rated by the Programme Committee. All abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Content, with emphasis on new results and developments, novel perspectives, and innovative or interdisciplinary approaches
Clear relevance to the conference themes
Broad applicability for peatland professionals working in a variety of contexts or geographical locations
Submission of a complete and compelling abstract in English language
The decision on acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be communicated in April 2026.
