WE CONDUCTED A CITY-WIDE SURVEY BETWEEN MID-OCTOBER AND MID-DECEMBER 2024, COLLECTING VIEWS AND PERCEPTIONS FROM RESIDENTS AND THOSE WHO FEEL CONNECTED TO MILTON KEYNES BY ASKING THEM TO TAKE PART IN A QUIZ. 490 PEOPLE RESPONDED. BELOW YOU FIND THE INFORMATION THAT WAS PROVIDED IN RELATION TO THE QUIZ.
THE QUIZ IS NO LONGER ACTIVE.
General Information
This research is run by the Centre for the Study of Global Development (CSGD) at the Open University (UK) in collaboration with Community Action: MK. It seeks to understand attitudes to problems of poverty in the city, and are gathering ideas for how to make things better.
With the city of Milton Keynes continuing to grow and the national Government focused on building more than a million new homes and developing New Towns across the country, it is vital to get insight into the benefits and struggles of living in newly established areas when money is tight. New housing estates tend to focus on the better off while the establishment of services and public transport often lags behind.
As part of this endeavour, it is crucial we gain a better understanding of what it’s like to live in a new town like Milton Keynes, and especially its newly established neighbourhoods, when income is low.
The research findings will be disseminated as reports, working papers, policy briefs and journal articles.
Quiz
Completing the quiz should take between 5-10 minutes. Participation in this quiz is fully voluntary.
The quiz includes questions you may find provocative. This is deliberate as we want to get your reaction to different ideas and beliefs about poverty. You are free to withdraw from the quiz at any point if you do not wish to answer these questions.
We offer the opportunity to win one of five gift vouchers of £20 that are awarded at random to participants in the quiz, and who have completed the quiz in full by 15 December 2024. If you would like a chance to win a voucher, you will be asked to leave your contact details after completing the quiz. The chance to win is not related to the accuracy of your answers. We only accept one entry per person.
We are using a web-based survey system called Jisc Online Surveys to distribute this survey.
If you have a disability or an additional requirement that makes it difficult for you to complete the questionnaire online, please email keetie.roelen@open.ac.uk.
The questionnaire has been designed for use on a standard computer (desktop or laptop). Full accessibility on a handheld device (such as a smartphone or tablet computer) cannot be guaranteed.
