Emir O. Filipović is Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Sarajevo. He has recently served as the head of the University’s History Department and the head of the Doctoral Studies Programme in History at the same institution. He has authored, edited, and co-edited several books on the history of Bosnia and Southeast Europe in the later Middle Ages, with his latest monograph treating the topic of chivalry in medieval Bosnia (Zagreb, 2024). He has also authored a textbook on Late medieval Southeast Europe between Latin Christianity, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Ottoman Islam (Hagen, 2025), and is currently preparing a co-edited Handbook on the Later Crusades, forthcoming with De Gruyter.
