Pia Maria Malik is a PhD Candidate at the Department of History, University of Delhi. Her research focuses on the Indo-Persian textual neighbourhood of Chishtiyya sufis in fourteenth-century Delhi and the Deccan, tracing the manner in which bodies of literature, ideas, exemplars, rituals, and communities were institutionalised, canonised, and deployed by emergent sufi masters across mutually-intelligible Persianate networks. She is also a Senior Research Fellow funded by the University Grants Commission, and a guest lecturer at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, where she teaches papers on the Delhi Sultanate and Mughals.
