In 2018, more than 800 educators from around the world gathered in Fort Worth, Texas for the World Positive Education Accelerator (WPEA) – and something powerful was set in motion.
From that gathering emerged the Positive Education Consortium, a nonprofit network that sparked an ongoing conversation about helping educators create thriving learning communities.
For eight years, Consortium members have advanced positive education by amplifying student voice, connecting research and practice, and collaborating with educators to create cultures where students and staff thrive.
The conversation continues...
Thank you to everyone who joined our BECOME a Changemaker conversation on Creative Strategies to Maintain Your Balance in a Constantly Changing World. Educators, leaders, and changemakers came together to explore how creativity and intentional practice can support well-being in today’s demanding environments.
Grounded in Positive Psychology and inspired by the work of Parker Palmer, the conversation centered on sustaining balance, navigating burnout, and reconnecting with inner wisdom. Through key touchstones—listening to the inner teacher, being present, and turning to wonder—participants reflected on meaningful ways to stay grounded and engaged. The session also highlighted the idea of Legacy Teachers, honoring the presence, experience, and lasting impact educators bring to their communities.
Guided by Carol Pelletier Radford and Chandra Joseph-Lacet, the conversation offered practical, adaptable strategies and left participants with renewed perspective, connection, and simple ways to support well-being in daily life.

Affecting Behavior Change: Seeing What’s Strong—Aligning Systems and Strengths for a Thriving School Culture
Student “problem behavior” is reported as one of the leading reasons school professionals leave the field. It’s also a risk factor for students’ school and community success, and a common concern among families about their child’s school experience.
What if we approached behavior with Openness—being open to strengths, possibility, and new ways of understanding what students are communicating through their actions?
Join this conversation to explore how we can collectively leverage the energy and efforts of the entire school community to support a thriving student body and faculty—by addressing disciplinary challenges through a Positive Psychology lens grounded in Openness.
Together, we’ll consider how this shift can lead to more positive, sustainable outcomes for students, staff, and families.
