Roy D'Abreo skillfully led the session for the past two weeks. This week we will return to our repertoire.
Roy’s successful session designed especially to help newcomers but an enjoyable selection of songs for everyone.
Roy used the screen and projector this week
as well as printed handouts for 10 well known songs to play and sing along in the Key of C. Repeating the Chords, C, F and G7 from the Week 1.
In Week 2, Roy introduced 2 New Chords -
A minor and D minor. continuing in the Key of C.
He stressed the importance of learning this group of basic chords to help us play many simple and familiar songs written in the Key of C.
Roy demonstrated how to move from Am to Dm and importance of learning the correct fingering to easily move back and forth from one chord to another.
SONGS:
SLOOP JOHN B - C & G7
MATILDA - C, F. G7 -We had fun doing call and answer with this one
I WALK THE LINE - C. G7, F
DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY - C, F. Dm
TEDDY BEAR - C. F G7
DON’T BE CRUEL - C, F, G7

Applause and Appreciation 😀👏🎶 to Roy
for his Time, Talent, Teaching and Passion!
Thank You Roy!
Today's session was led by Roy D'Abreo
Roy geared this session to the very new players.
Focussing on the importance of learning a few basic chords such as F, C, C7, G7
he demonstrated where to place fingers and referred us to Chord Charts.
We practiced these specific Chords together a few times. He emphasized the importance of lots of practising on our own and that singing along actually helps us play, and working at home with your computer where you can stop, go back, learn and play at your own speed.
ROY gave out sheets of simple, familiar 2 and 3 Chord pieces to sing & play together
2- Chords using F and C7
JAMBALAYA - F and C7
DOGGIE IN WINDOW - C and G7
3 - Chord Songs using C, G7 and F
