Privacy Policy

By participating in the Port Ramsgate Maritime Village consultation survey (now closed), you agree that you have read, understood and agreed to this privacy policy.

1. The Port Ramsgate Maritime Village website and survey form have been developed by Helene Whitehall with initial advisory support from Cllr Beverly Martin. They are maintained by David Jennings (DJ Alchemi Ltd). In the rest of this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refers to this team.

2. In using the website and survey form, users may interact with:

    • Google Sites;
    • Google Forms;
    • Google’s Analytics service.

3. Our use of survey data is governed by DJ Alchemi Ltd's registration with the Information Commissioner under the 1998 Data Protection Act (Registration Number Z8806820, registered date 25 October 2004).

4. As part of your use of the consultation survey you may be asked for personal information including:

  • full name;
  • e-mail address;
  • approximate age;
  • postcode/location;
  • views about the Port Ramsgate Maritime Village vision.

5. Any personal information that you provide will be securely handled, although we cannot guarantee that unauthorised third parties will not be able to breach the security measures that are in operation.

6. Your personal information will be used by the team only for the following purposes:

  • to record your views and represent them, only in anonymous and aggregated form, in reports to public bodies and for wider publication;
  • to contact you by email, in which case this will only ever be for consultation-specific purposes.

7. Our policy is to archive all survey data in anonymous form - having first removed all names and email addresses from the data - no later than 31 December 2018.

8. If you use this website and survey form to provide personal information such as your email address, we will never sell your personal information to anyone. We will never give your details to any third party without your express agreement unless the third party is providing services that are a necessary part of the consultation process. In this case, the personal information that we share will be restricted to name and email address, and we will use all reasonable means at our disposal to ensure that the third party only uses such personal information in the provision of the services that are a necessary part of the consultation process.

9. The systems used for the website and survey form have the facility to monitor and record connections to and from each site. The monitoring data collected includes browser type, domain names, traffic volumes, temporal data, IP information and data posted from web-forms. We reserve the right to analyse this information from time to time.

10. Cookies, which are small files, typically of letters and numbers, downloaded on to a device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you accesses certain websites, and which allow a service-provider to recognise you or your device each time you visit. Cookies are used by several of the systems on which this website and survey form rely, mainly to track user activity. By using the website and survey form, you consent to the use of cookies. For more information about this use, and guidance on how to disable cookies, please see the general information on the All About Cookies website and Google's information about how it uses cookies.

11. As indicated above in paragraph 2, if you use this website and survey form you may interact with several different systems provided by third parties, which may themselves collect personal information from individual users. How any such personal information provided by users to the organisations responsible for these systems is handled is the responsibility of the third party in question, not of our team. Please note, in particular, that we cannot guarantee that your personal data will be entirely hosted within the European Union. It may therefore not be protected by the current “Safe Harbour Principles”.
