Filemon Richard Mbando
I am Filemon Richard Mbando, a passionate and driven young leader from Arusha, Tanzania, committed to creating meaningful impact in my community and beyond. As a Founder and CEO of Changemakers Hub, a for-youth-by-youth NGO and movement, I dedicate myself to empowering African youth through leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovative solutions that address pressing social and environmental challenges.
As a Youth Advocate and Changemaker, I work to inspire young people to take active roles in shaping their future, promoting access to education, environmental sustainability, and community development. My approach combines service, mentorship, and collaboration, enabling youth to develop skills and confidence to drive long-term positive change.
I am also an Environmentalist and Climate Justice Activist, committed to raising awareness about climate challenges and mobilizing collective action to protect our planet. As a Public Speaker and STEM Enthusiast, I use my voice to amplify youth perspectives, advocate for social justice, and motivate others to innovate and act.
With dedication, discipline, and a vision for change, I continue to lead initiatives that transform lives, champion youth-led action, and create opportunities for sustainable development across communities.
Through RESOAP, I aim to address environmental waste while promoting hygiene and sustainability. So far, we have recycled 16 bars of soap, collected from hotels and businesses, and repurposed them into new, usable bars. This initiative not only reduces waste but also provides affordable soap to community members, improving sanitation and health. Materials used include used soap pieces, water, heat for melting, molds, and packaging materials, creating a simple yet effective circular economy model that benefits both the environment and local communities, fostering meaningful social and environmental change.
