Project highlights from a career in Arts Education and community programming.
Visual and Performing Arts: Master Arts Education Strategic Plan
The Portland Public Schools Master Arts Education Plan provides a framework and metrics to measure access to effective high quality arts experiences within the school district.
Elisabeth supported the finalization, roll out, and initial implementation of the PPS Visual and Performing Arts Master Arts Education Strategic Plan (MAEP). Elisabeth also served on the MAEP steering committee. Learn more in the links below. Hear her speak about the MAEP at 1:35 in the video below.
HeART of Portland Annual Student Art Showcase
The HeART of Portland is an annual district-wide student arts showcase held at the Portland Art Museum. The program celebrates the city's Arts Access Fund (aka: Portland Arts Tax) and showcases the depth of student learning that is possible within the arts.
Elisabeth developed the HeART of Portland Collaborative Project curriculum, designed the exhibition of student work and managed the Visual Arts gallery from inception to excecution. She had a vision of creating an environment of student art that could be experienced, rather than simply displaying artwork in frames. See her vision come to life through Artistic Alchemy (aka the tunnel of art) from the 2024 HeART of Portland.

State Education Agency Directors of Art Education
Workshop Facilitator
This workshop was developed to provide a hands-on learning experience for state level arts education directors. Elisabeth took this opportunity with state level administrators to uplift arts educators in the field and spotlight contemporary Indigenous art practices.
Programming Partner
Atlanta Contemporary (formerly Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, and Nexus Press) is a contemporary art center and museum offering free admission for all community members and support for resident artists.
During COVID-19 Elisabeth created a series of weekly pop up programming for Atlanta Contemporary to engage patrons in creative community. The pop up series continued throughout the reopening of the art center to engage patrons of all ages on site.
Curator-in-Residence
Art on the the Atlanta BeltLine provides community connection through public art placed along a pedestrian corridor which connects the cities intown neighborhoods.
Elisabeth served as the Curator-in-Residence in 2020 where she created a series of community art boxes to engage residents in connection with diverse community organizations. By partnering with grassroots arts organizations, queer pride groups, and community initiations Elisabeth aimed to create a sense of belonging for those who may have been isolated due to pandemic restrictions.
