Benefits of Digital Badges in Higher Education

My Master's thesis takes a deep dive into the benefits (as well as drawbacks) that digital badges can have in a higher education institution. Backed by case studies and extensive research, the presentation below outlines:

• What digital badges are and how they are different from micro credentials.

• The benefits and drawbacks of digital badges.

• Dissemination of various case studies involving the incorporation of digital badges at several higher education institutions nationwide.

• A results-based case study I conducted through SUNY Potsdam and their implementation of a co-curricular pathways program involving the use of digital badges in their online graduate program.
