For my future career, I am both interested in and required to complete an internship in game design. While my academic projects have allowed me to develop a solid understanding of the discipline, what I feel I am missing most is practical experience within a professional game development environment.
I am eager to learn from experienced developers and gain a clearer understanding of how game design is applied in real production settings. Working alongside industry professionals would give me valuable insight into established workflows, design methodologies, and the day-to-day responsibilities of a game designer.
Although I already have a good understanding of the fundamentals of game design, I believe that hands-on experience and exposure to real-world projects are essential for further developing my skills and becoming a more effective designer. An internship would be an excellent opportunity to bridge the gap between academic projects and professional game development.
As for my other skills and areas of expertise, I have experience in programming, sound design, pixel art, and 3D modeling. I consider these disciplines to be highly valuable for my future career, as they provide me with a broader understanding of the different aspects of game development.
Beyond their practical value, these fields are particularly interesting to me because they represent key components of the game creation process. Exploring multiple disciplines allows me to better understand how different teams collaborate and how each element contributes to the overall player experience.
Developing skills in these areas has not only strengthened my versatility as a game developer but has also given me a deeper appreciation of the creative and technical challenges involved in bringing a video game to life.
