Principal Consultant

Joel Battistoni, President of PORTAC, has over 20 years of diverse experience serving in uniform, as a government employee and for major defense contractors across all aspects of military operations, logistics, and equipment acquisition and management. Joel served 10 years supporting international programs for U.S. Marine Corps Forces in Europe and Africa, as well as the staff of U.S. European Command, where he managed international defense, education and training programs across Africa. Joel was certified Level III in Acquisition Logistics (DAWIA), and served 7 years on the F/A-18 E/F program, where he implemented major Performance-Based Logistics agreements on both the aircraft and the engines as an Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML.)

Joel has been the principal consultant for PORTAC since 2006, where he has supported the U.S. Marine Corps adoption and implementation of Sense and Respond Logistics (S&RL), Item Unique Identification (IUID), Total Life Cycle Management (TLCM) modeling and simulation-based decision support and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+). Joel continues to support the U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense and the NATO Life Cycle Management Group through development of the Allied Unique Identification of Items (UID) Publication (AUIDP-1), and assistance in implementation of technologies and processes for coalition item-level traceability, for example using ISO Product Life Cycle Support standards for data exchange.

Joel holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (BSAE) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Institute of Technology.
