This project is a collaboration between Southwest London Baseball Association and Fanshawe College to create a portable scoreboard for use at youth baseball games and tournaments.
Overview
Southwest London Baseball Association requested a portable scoreboard that displays the inning number, scores, balls, strikes, outs, and top/bottom of the inning. The system will contain speakers that will be used for announcements. It will also be controlled either manually or through wireless control. Advertising space is available for customer use.
Statement of Benefits
Southwest London requires a portable and cost efficient scoreboard that will enhance the game experience for its little league players.
Summary
An Arduino UNO micro-controller will be used to control the scoreboard display. The scoreboard display will be controlled either with buttons connected to the Arduino, or through a wireless control interface that will be provided by a Raspberry PI or equivalent. A microphone will be provided to allow the user to make announcements.
