The Platform of Politically Non-Aligned Peasant Organizations (POPP NON) is a coalition of Haitian organizations, mostly farming groups but also including community organizations, civic groups and Labor unions.


Several of  these organizations have existed on the ground for more than thirty (30) years. These groups come from the very heart of the Haitian people, rooted in various communal sections and municipalities across the national territory.

We are not a political party and are not aligned with any. We are an amalgam of mostly farmers united in one common front as a preparatory step toward writing a new chapter in a history we aim to shape. 


The acute crisis that erupted after the assassination of former President Moïse, worsened by the tenure of Dr. Ariel Henry, and compounded by the CPT (Presidential Transitional Council)—which was supposed to reach term in only six months but is now approaching its fifth year, has plunged Haitian society into an ever-deepening crisis.

Over these five hellish years, we have witnessed barbaric acts and grave human rights violations, especially against women and girls. What began as insecurity concentrated in the West Department has now spread to multiple municipalities in Artibonite and the Central Plateau, revealing the gangs' intention to expand their influence into strategic areas.

The violent actions of armed gangs have torn society at its core. Today, many families and members of once-close communities who used to share the same homes and neighborhoods are now scattered and separated. Official figures report nearly 1.3 million internally displaced people.

Over the past six years, the country has experienced layers of trauma, and the social fabric has been severely damaged. Haiti’s society seems to have lost some of its fundamental social reflexes that were part of its collective vigilance.

Faced with this alarming reality, and despite a generally difficult context, several organizations have found the strength, determination, and clarity of vision to come together and form the Platform of Non-Aligned Peasant Political Organizations (POPP NON-aligned).
