Workshop goals:
1. Share, discuss, and update knowledge on dioxin and persistent organic pollutants contamination in the environment, their potential impacts, and the applicability of different treatment technologies, particularly the technology of using vetiver grass, in the remediation and treatment of environmental pollution; Difficulties and challenges in applying and implementing this technology in practice.
2. Academic exchange between national and international experts in environmental science and biotechnology applications in environmental pollution treatment.
Workshop participants:
1. Scientists in diverse fields such as environmental research and the application of biotechnology in environmental pollution treatment, etc.
2. Scientists received awards from the PEER program, USAID in the field of dioxin pollution treatment in Vietnam
3. Guests from USAID Vietnam, leaders of agencies, institutes, universities, stakeholders, and interested persons
The workshop intends to promote networking and collaboration among diverse participants, thereby promoting research and developmental activities on Environmental issues.

The creation of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in the city of Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) has the ambitious objective to focus on developing Science and Education by fostering exchanges between Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues from other parts of the world.
