Poorhouse Sorghum works to produce the highest quality pure sorghum syrup and value added sorghum products based in Gravel Switch, Kentucky. We have a continued commitment to our faith, family, consumers, and traditions. We hope to bring you either a new culinary flavor or a flavor of cherished memories from the past, either way we hope you will enjoy our products!

Meet The Crew

We put family first

Although our crew may seem rather small we are fortunate that this is a family business owner Jimmy Elliott (on the right) and his granddaughter part owner, Kaitlyn Elliott (in the middle) do a majority of the farming part of the operation. Betty Elliott (on the left) is the glue to our family and also helps to be the glue to our business keeping us both going and always willing to lend a hand especially when it comes to bottling and selling. Jimmy and Betty's daughters also help on occasion. It truly is a family affair.
