At Famova's we keep your pool clean and safe for your family and yourself to enjoy. We work in a peronalized weekly program specifically designed and planned for your pool after our first visit. If you have encountered any of the problems listed below, it is time to hire a professional cleaning service for your pool and or spa.
CLOUDY WATER
The factors that can cause cloudy water are the following:
Poor filtration system (not working properly)
Poor water circulation
Imbalance of chemicals - Water Chemistry
Overuse of your pool (that cause depletion of your pool's sanitation capabilities causing bacterias, dead human skin, pollution)
STAINING IN YOUR POOL
This is caused by the buildup of unwanted minerals, its identified based on the color it turns into:
Red means theres Fe (iron) in the water.
Black or Blue-Green are Cu (cooper) build up and it causes swimmers' hair and fingernails to turn green.
Deep-Purple or Pink shows how much Mg (magnesium) is present in the water.
ALGAE
Algae is a common problem in swimming pools and spas.
It can turn sunlight into food, creating waste as a side effect and causing dangerous bacteria to breed.
Although there are 30,000 species of algae, the color blue-green algae can cause cloudiness in the water. Others types can cause different problems like algae floating in the water, stick to or coat the walls and floor, etc.
SCALES IN YOUR POOL
The main causes are the accumulation of hard solids and the buildup of Ca (calcium), carbonates in the pool due to excessive hard water. Its easy to identify this in your pool because it causes brown, gray or white deposits in your pool or spa.
FOAMING
Soap bubbles in the surface of the water.
The most common causes are air leaks in pools return lines, and certain algaecides can also result in foaming. Buildup of debris such as cosmetic residues, body oils and chemical byproducts can cause the formation of insoluble materials.
EYE BURNING. AND IRRITATION
It could be caused by unbalanced pH levels in the water and if this is the case, then the cause could be NH2CI (chloramine), which is due to insufficient levels of CI2 (free chlorine).
CHLORINE ODOR
The result of excess combined chlorine creates an unpleasant odor.
TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS
Is the total of all the dissolved materials in the pool water. This is measured by looking at the electric conductivity of water.
If the level of total dissolved solids in the water is too high, it can lead to problems such as hazy and cloudy water, sanitation problems, foaming and water balance.
PO43-(PHOSPHATE) AND NO3- (NITRATE) BUILDUP
High levels of these minerals in the water can lead to the growth of algae and it make it harder to control it. If the level gets too high it will be necessary to drain and replace the water in the pool.
THE SOLUTION IS IN OUR HANDS
We adjust all the chemicals to the correct levels
Free chlorine level of 1.0 to 1.5 ppm.
Calcium content in the water is within the 100 to 400 ppm range
Super-chlorinate
pH level 7.2 - 7.8 range
Total dissolved solids range is around 250 ppm and up
Phosphate and nitrate
High- quality algaecide as part of your regular pool maintenance,
Brush the spots with a firm brush to remove the clinging algae,
Add a sequestering agent to the water, which dissolves the calcium to prevent buildup.
Use of super-chlorinate in the water as well as discarding swimming pool water as necessary.
Shocking the water in order to reduce the amount of impurities which would also bring conbined chlorine levels down.
Remove water from the pool by setting the filter on the "waste" setting as well as maintaining proper levels of total alkalinity, pH and free chlorine residual
