Pontunia has a unicameral Parliament elected by the citizens using a proportional method. Parliament holds legislative power and is elected for a three-month term unless dissolved early. The Speaker of Parliament is elected by the members and can be removed by a parliamentary vote. Parliament has the authority to pass laws, call referenda, amend the constitution, and propose Supreme Court judges.
The Monarch serves as the Head of State, embodying the dignity and sovereignty of Pontunia. The Monarch has significant powers, including representing the kingdom in international relations, appointing the Prime Minister, promulgating laws, and serving as the supreme commander of the Armed Forces. The Monarch is immune and inviolable in all court proceedings.
The High Court of Pontunia is the highest legal authority, responsible for interpreting the Constitution and serving as the court of final appeal. Justices are appointed by the Crown with parliamentary confirmation and can be removed by Parliament with the Crown's assent.
