After our second Placemaking Workshop, community member gathered at Ganesha Park to explore the potential of establishing an urban arboretum at the park. There are many wonderful trees in the center of the park, as well as on the adjacent hillside, which features a number of closed roads and abandoned trails. There are also many dead and dying trees so we have our work cut out for us. But this group is excited by the potential.
Since our first Placemaking Workshop, community members have been gathering regularly on Saturday mornings to clean up an area along a creek-bed in the Phillips Ranch neighborhood. The goal is to transform this forgotten landscape into a hiking trail that connects Phillips Ranch to local shopping and dining (photo by Shafali Grewal)
