POLTEXT is an international symposium on quantitative text analysis, which is the application of natural language processing techniques and statistical data analysis in political science and related social science fields.
POLTEXT events are organized according to these guiding principles:
- Interdisciplinary: We welcome participants from all fields of social science and computer science, although POLTEXT has a special emphasis on political science, international relations, legal studies, and communication studies.
- Equal: All scholars shall be offered equal opportunity to participate in POLTEXT events regardless of their ethnicity, gender or religion. We also encourage advanced MA and PhD students to participate.
- Global: We aim to form a global community of text analysts by holding POLTEXT events on all continents.
- Diverse: We aim to foster the development of methods, tools and resources for the quantitative analysis of texts in non-European and/or lesser-resourced languages by allocating ample space for work on those languages at POLTEXT events.
