Easier access. “I will always fight to keep health care decisions between a patient and their medical provider.” Co-sponsored a law to expand Medicaid to cover abortion and gender-affirming care. Supported legislation to expand Medicaid to cover abortion costs. Endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

Co-sponsored the “America Works Act,” a bill to increase the work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), designed to cut the spending for, and limit access to, SNAP benefits. The bill sought to eliminate work requirement waivers of individual states such as Oregon. "Washington, D.C. radicals believe in multiculturalism ... they want open borders, government-funded healthcare, and abortion on demand. I won’t stand for it."
Promotes. Co-sponsored legislation to provide financial incentives for housing developments to make at least 30 percent of dwelling units affordable to lower income families. Voted for banning no-cause evictions in Oregon.
Restricts. Voted in favor of H.R. 3564, a bill which if enacted would have made it more expensive for first-time homebuyers and borrowers of color seeking conventional loans for home ownership. The bill was opposed by the National Fair Housing Alliance.
Favors. Has supported legislation to enable public agencies to bar concealed carry weapons from public buildings. Sponsored legislation to ban untraceable ghost guns.
Blocks. Has failed to support bills to ban assault weapons, require safe storage of firearms and control use of large capacity magazines. Given a 92% approval rating by National Rifle Association (NRA).
