Writing is a process. We are so used to seeing written material in the finished form that we often forget that the finished form is almost never the first iteration. Even the best and most famous writers receive constructive criticism and revise their work.
One of the most famous first lines of English poetry is from T.S. Eliot's the The Wasteland which begins "April is the cruelest month". Without Ezra Pound's feedback, it may well have been entirely different. Have a look at the extensive revisions that went into this famous poem.
RIP Kepler Space Telescope (took 5 grant proposals and almost a decade before Kepler launched!)
