Taiwan Tower project is an international competition proposal. The site is approximately one hectare located at the Central Park, Taichung, Taiwan and will comprise of Taiwan Tower and the Museum of Taichung City Development. The observatory of Taiwan Tower which is planned to be at least 300 meter high should provide visitors with a view of the Taiwan Strait.

Concept: Trees with buttress roots are found in the tropical rainforest climate, such as Taiwan. The buttress roots do not penetrate to deeper layers but they support the trees from falling over meanwhile gathering nutrients for the trees. The idea of the proposal is received from the buttress roots. The Taiwan Tower would be the root of Taiwanese spirit and gives Taiwanese people both mental and physical nutrients. The structure of the buttress root is transformed into the tower design.
