Pocatello Valley Montessori School is proud of its historic academic building.
Located in the treasured Roosevelt school building, the campus of Pocatello Valley Montessori includes five Montessori classrooms, music / art room, a gymnasium, secure-fenced playground and other active learning areas. These educational centers are designed to engage your child in an educational environment. We offer new ways to learn and grow every day and supplement your educational efforts at home.

We invite you to set up a time to tour our school, along with your child. Pocatello Valley Montessori operates from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and we can conduct tours of our campus during those hours. Our Montessori Classrooms and Campus
Hands on work in the Montessori classroom
Our Montessori classrooms are carefully prepared with specially designed, self-correcting learning materials, arranged to be easily accessed by students. Your child moves from activity to activity as he builds and discovers new things. All of this is carefully supervised by our Montessori teachers who will offer help, gently guide a child, and demonstrate the skill or concept being learned as needed.
Art Room and Lunch Room

Other rooms your child will frequent as a student at our Pocatello Montessori school include our art room and lunch room. Our art room is stocked with art supplies that children use to make creative craft and art projects, and plenty of space to work. Our lunch room is where full-day students sit together to enjoy their lunches together. Currently we do not have an in-school lunch system and all student lunches are packed from home.
Video Monitoring and Safety
In addition to the continuous supervision of our teacher and staff, all classrooms and play areas are monitored by 24 hour video surveillance. All of our staff have had background checks and have completed First Aid and CRASE training (Citizen Response to Active Shooter Event). Our outer doors are locked during the school day, expect for during drop off and pick up. Classroom doors are all set up so that they could be locked quickly in the event of an emergency. We have a school-wide emergency plan which we review regularly. We practice fire drills, lock-down drills, evacuation to a remote location, and shelter-in-place drills regularly.
Active Play Areas
The botany curriculum includes care of plants both inside and outside of the classroom.
The Pocatello Valley Montessori campus includes indoor and outdoor spaces for active play. We have a large, enclosed outdoor play area that includes grassy areas, fruit trees, potted plants that children help care for, play structure, grassy knolls, a winding path, and blacktop for trikes or ball games. During inclement weather, students take advantage of our large indoor gym to engage in active play.
Music Program
In 2016, Pocatello Valley Montessori School received a grant for musical instruments. We purchased the Montessori Bells and Tone Bars. Children use these beautiful instruments in the classroom to learn to discriminate tones, and learn music theory. Peter Davidson offers an explanation of the Montessori Bells. We use the Tone Bars in the Elementary classroom to continue children’s musical training.
