DWR- Permitted Wildlife Rehabilitators- If you find injured wildlife, if movable, keep in a box or other transportable space. It is important NOT to provide food or water to the organism at this time until they have been evaluated. Use the link to find a rehabilitator for the kind of animal that you have. Not all rehabilitators are certified for all animals. If you cannot reach someone on the list, call Animal Control who may be able to assist and get it to the closest help.
Have you been inspired by any of the classes so far? Does it have you wondering, "How can I volunteer doing something like this?" If so, send an email to pocahontastraining@gmail.com stating something like, "I really enjoyed the macroinvertebrate ID activity. Is there a way I could do that kind of activity as volunteer work?" and we will be happy to send you different ways to use your recently learned skills!
