Purpose : This project is to explore cognitive and affective vulnerability factors and process mechanisms linking sociocultural context and suicidal behaviour through a cross-national comparative study. In collaboration with the other countries like UK, we will examine cultural differences in cognitive (i.e., social comparison and attribution style) and affective (i.e., emotion recognition and emotion expression) factors and examine the specific mechanisms by which these cognitive and affective traits lead to suicidal behaviour. In addition, we will examine cultural differences in the explanatory power of the integrated motivational-volitional model of suicidal behaviour.
Study period : 2023.06.01 ~ 2026.05.31
