PNC 2023 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings

Theme: Sea Change: Renewal, Reform and Resolve in Global Arts, Sciences, and Business

November 3-5, 2023  ● The University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan

Main Theme Description

(by Dr. Wayne de Fremery)

The lives we led in the winter of 2019 were unrecognizable by the spring of 2020. The lives we have led since the spring of 2020 are becoming unrecognizable again.

We have suffered and are suffering again a sea change. Indeed, the sea itself is changing. Our world is rich and strange.

Spaces and places are being rethought and renewed. The techniques and technologies that sustain collective memory are being reformed.

How we teach one another and our youth has had to change and is changing again. How we represent ourselves and are represented by our data in this post-pandemic world is profoundly and perplexingly different.

Businesses have had to innovate and innovate again.

We have had to reform and renew and renew and reform how we do science and take care of ourselves.

We have had to rethink and rethink again what it means to be well. We have had to work hard to be well.

We have had to mourn those who never got well.

The Pacific Neighborhood Consortium 2023 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings is an opportunity for leading thinkers from around the world to gather and consider “Sea Change: Reform, Renewal and Resolve in Global Arts, Sciences, and Business.”
