How to Help

Thank you for helping the PTO support the students, teachers, and staff at Parkville Middle!

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS

The PMS Spanish Club is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from May 20-24, 2024, in the PMS Library. Just in time to find some great reads for the Summer!

All PMS students will visit the Book Fair during their Spanish or Reading class.

The club needs PMS parents, guardians, and adult family members to help run the Book Fair. Prior experience is not required (they will train!), but all volunteers must have completed BCPS Volunteer Training for the 2023/24 school year.

Can you help? If so, please sign up using our Signup Genius form.

Thank you for your support!

POTLUCK LUNCH DONATIONS

The Parkville Middle PTO is hosting a potluck lunch for PMS teachers and staff on Friday, May 10th, during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. But we need the PMS Community's help to make it happen!

Please donate a side dish, dessert, or drink item for the lunch, using our SignUp Genius form. Food items can be store-bought or homemade.

All items must be dropped off to the PTO table in the school lobby (near the front office) between 8:05 am and 10:30 am on the day of the lunch. Please note if a food item contains nuts.

The PTO is ordering main entrees, salad, and bread. If you want to donate toward the cost of these and other items, please use our CheddarUp page.

Thank you for your support!

THESE ARE SOME OF [THEIR] FAVORITE THINGS...

Looking for gift ideas for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week and/or for the end of the year? Check out the updated "PMS Teachers' and Staff's Favorite Things" list, which is now available! The list has responses from 56 PMS teachers and staff.

Many thanks to those who filled out the PMS PTO survey -- in 2023 and/or in 2024 -- to let us create this list.

The survey asked them about their 'favorite things' (e.g., places to eat, places to shop, hobbies, classroom wish lists). We then compiled and published the results, to give interested PMS families ideas for T&SAW, end-of-year, or anytime appreciation gifts.

PMS PTO BOARD STILL NEEDED FOR 2024/2025

The PMS PTO actively supports Parkville Middle students, teachers, and staff. However, for the PTO to run next year, it needs an Executive Board.

If you are a current PTO member and/or planning to join next school year, please consider joining our Executive Board. We are still in need of a Vice President!

Below is a description of each Executive Board position:

The president is the chief volunteer for the PMS PTO. The president shall lead the PTO in performing its duties and responsibilities, including, if present, presiding at all general meetings, and shall perform all other duties required by the Executive Board.

The vice-president assists the President in the running of the PMS PTO. If there is an absence or disability of the president, the vice-president shall perform the duties of the president. The vice-president shall have such other powers and perform such other duties prescribed for them by the Executive Board or the president.

The secretary shall keep minutes of all general meetings and actions of the Executive Board and collect meeting minutes from PMS PTO committees. The secretary shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Executive Board or the president.

The treasurer shall be responsible for oversight of the financial condition and affairs of the PMS PTO. The treasurer shall oversee and keep the governing body informed of the financial condition of the PTO and of financial review results. In conjunction with other Executive Board members, the treasurer shall oversee budget preparation and ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available on a timely basis or as may be required by the Executive Board. The treasurer will also file IRS Form 990 annually for the PTO.

If you are interested, or have questions, please send us an email (to the address at the bottom of this page) or message us through our Facebook group.

SUPPORT THE PMS PTO: DONATE TODAY!

The Parkville Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the students, teachers, and staff of Parkville Middle School.

The PTO assists school-led initiatives (like the 6th Grade Ice Cream Social and Haunted Hallways) and organizes its own activities (like PMS spirit wear, community service projects, 8th grade EOY activities, and teacher and staff appreciation).

We need YOUR support to help fund our work. Our individual membership fee is low to encourage more people to get involved. But it is not enough to fund all the things we get asked to help with, and all the things we hope to do.

Please help us do more for our PMS community and DONATE today! Thank you for your support!

This link will connect you to a third-party web site (Cheddar Up) for secure processing of your contact and financial information. Cheddar Up charges a small transaction fee for credit card payments. It will be included in the total payment.
