Grubliss is a small, worm-like Pokemon with a mostly pale body. It has large, round eyes with small slit pupils, three small spikes on both sides of its head, six triangle-shaped protolegs and a flat, ribbon-like tail. Its mouth has four fangs resembling the mouthparts of a hookworm.

They move mostly by crawling on the ground, but their claws have excellent grip which they use to latch onto other Pokemon. They specifically wait for the largest, strongest-looking Pokémon they can find to pass by before they settle on a host (or the nearest, if they’re getting impatient…). Their saliva contains a numbing agent, so when they bite another Pokemon, the most they would feel is a mildly annoying itch.

You might not even notice one is attached to you until somebody points it out- or you start feeling sick. Grubliss’ hosts often report symptoms similar to anemia’s, such as dizziness and fatigue.

Evolution

Evolves into Scarabliss after participating in a dungeon, quest or challenge with at least one other Pokemon. The type of the other Pokemon will influence the form Grubliss evolves into.

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan - the spikes on the tops of their heads become horns and their protolegs grow into functioning limbs. Heavy Metal Forme Scarabliss have blade-shaped horns and claws, both of which are made of tough metal.

They vary in size much more than their counterparts, and they’re also known to form groups solely consisting of Scarabliss of their own form, eggs, and the Grubliss that hatch from said eggs. The largest members of these groups take up a leadership role. These Scarabliss will also raise the Grubliss under their social group’s care, allowing them to latch onto their bodies and use them as hosts. This makes the Wicked Forme quite common compared to other forms of Scarabliss.

Evolution

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan - the spikes on the tops of their heads become horns and their protolegs grow into functioning limbs. Creeping Forme Scarabliss have wing-shaped horns and protrusions on their legs that give them a similar shape. They have a spectral look to them; parts of their body are coated in toxic sludge that is light enough to be carried away by the wind and they usually hover a few feet above the ground.

One of their most notable traits is the fact that they are unusually quiet. No part of their body makes noise when interacting with the world around them, and other Pokemon can only hear them speak when they are the ones being spoken to by Scarabliss. They were one of the first forms of Scarabliss to ever be discovered, and their eerie silence led some to believe they weren’t real Pokemon at all - just illusions.

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan - the spikes on the tops of their heads become horns and their protolegs grow into functioning limbs. Crocidolite Forme Scarabliss have flat, triangular horns and tough plates on their lower limbs. These plates - along with their horns and fangs - are made out of dense crystal and require plenty of maintenance.

These Scarabliss can generate crystal from a specialized organ on their feet. Most of the crystal that they create is used to maintain their territory, but the excess is used to keep their body in good shape. Occasionally, they will shed all their crystal plating at once, and brave explorers will recover the shed material to use for jewelry (although it needs to be thoroughly decontaminated before use unless it’s being given to a Poison-type Pokemon.)

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan - the spikes on the tops of their heads become horns and their protolegs grow into functioning limbs. Hallucigen Forme Scarabliss have flat, spade-shaped horns that ‘droop’ behind the head. The claws on their front legs are incredibly sharp, while the claws on their back four feet are underdeveloped and mostly used to keep itself stable on the ground while fighting.

This form of Scarabliss is keen on antagonizing other Pokemon and they have plenty of tools at their disposal to do so. Their body contains an intense toxin that concentrates in their front claws and the stingers on their tail. They also have the power to create illusions, and while this power isn’t as strong as that of something like a Zorua, they can use it to blend with their surroundings or disguise themselves.

Despite their imposing appearance, these Psychic-type Pokemon are rather frail. They avoid combat by manipulating air pollutants with their psychic power, which coagulate into a gel-like substance that covers the Pokemon’s neck and tail. When they feel especially threatened, they disperse these toxins in waves, causing staggering drops in the air quality of the surrounding area.

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan - the spikes on the tops of their heads become horns and their protolegs grow into functioning limbs. Geotoxin Forme Scarabliss have drill-shaped horns and claws specialized for digging, and their bodies are also much longer than normal Scarabliss. These Scarabliss are quite amicable compared to their cousins, but daring to battle one is almost guaranteed to be a death sentence - sharp claws and strong poisons aren’t a fun combination to work against.

Normally, they live most of their lives underground, building elaborate tunnel systems. If another Pokemon accidentally comes across its burrow, they’ll offer to guide them out on the condition they don’t try to fight them. Time is of the essence, as poisonous material Scarabliss sheds often ends up mixed into the dirt of their burrows, and may incapacitate a Pokemon before they can find their way out without guidance.

All forms of Scarabliss have the same basic body plan, but Hazardiamant Forme Scarabliss are particularly intimidating. They’re a head or so larger than their counterparts, and their bodies are covered in tough plates. At rest, their internals reach temperatures of up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit and they vent heat through their claws, horns and the top side of its tail- the residual heat alone is enough to cause minor burns and melt thin metals.

Scarabliss sweats a chemical that is highly flammable and concentrates in the areas where it vents heat. By focusing its body heat, it can ignite parts of its body without sustaining any damage - a powerful adaptation that makes it a formidable foe in spite of its small size.
