The peer assessment is Stage 2 of the dispatcher recruitment process and can be conducted whenever the Probationary Dispatcher is ready, the assessor can be any substantive Dispatcher. The process is to ensure the probationary dispatcher is operating at an acceptable level. The assessing dispatcher will review your actions in a 25 minute session whereby they will work alongside you on the live server on duty. They will assist and prompt you when needed. At the end of the shift they will tell you your results, if you’re successful you will be granted the substantive role of dispatcher, if you are unsuccessful they will provide you with some feedback and you’ll be able to undertake another peer assessment. If you would like to undertake your Stage 2, ask any dispatcher when you are on duty to complete this.
Once successful, you will be a substantive Dispatcher.
