RED AND BLUE
Red and Blue team activities have a long tradition at PLP, dating back to birthday celebrations for Henry Woolman, using the school colors of his alma mater, Penn. If you don’t have a color, consult the activities leaders (the “Purples”). Colors alternate in families, with the eldest child usually the opposite color to the parent of the same sex. Guests typically take the opposite color of their hosts, to discourage the importation of athletic ringers. Children are encouraged to wear their color to activities like field games, soccer, etc. Opportunities abound to help your team amass points, and not just in athletics. Red and blue competition culminates on Woolman Day, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, with afternoon relay races around the lake, followed by ice cream for all, courtesy of the Woolman family.
